Town of Centuripe, Italy

The town Centuripe is located in a mountainous area in the province of Enna, on the island of Sicily, just 40 kilometers away from Mount Etna. The unique human-like shape of the town emerged because of its topography. From the central part of the Centuripe, there are five branches in different directions. One of those is shorter, while the other four are longer. Of course, the visitors cannot fully understand the shape of the town if they don’t use a drone or any other aerial mechanism.

While it is hard to tell whether the unique shape of Centuripe is just accidental or its builders through the centuries actually knew how it could look in the end, the Sicilian town has gained an extra attraction thanks to it. Italian landscape has plenty of captivating towns and landscapes, but Centuripe is like no other.
